The Award-Winning Firm
SRA-regulated · 25+ years’ family law experience · Resolution members · Accredited mediator · UK & international
Family law matters rarely arrive neatly. They arrive in the middle of everything else — work, children, finances, uncertainty about what comes next. SKB Law was built for exactly that moment: to give people clarity, a clear path forward, and the right level of support to get there.
People make better decisions when they understand their position, their options and what comes next. That is the principle SKB Law is built on. It shapes how we structure our advice, how we communicate, and how we support our clients.
Your Path Forward
How We Work
People come to us at different stages. Some want clarity before taking action, so they can understand where they stand and what options are realistically available. Others already know the issue and need a solicitor to step in quickly, take control of communication, and move the matter forward.
Our services are structured so you can get clarity first, then decide what to do next — or move directly into the legal service that best addresses your situation. You’re not expected to know the right legal route in advance, or to have everything figured out. We’ll explain your options in plain English, recommend next steps, and keep the process steady and organised.
SKB Law
Our Story
SKB Law is a specialist family law practice operating across England & Wales and internationally, supporting a broad private client base — individuals, professionals, and business owners navigating family law matters at every level of complexity. The firm has particular depth in complex financial matters, children proceedings, cross-border cases, and situations where cultural, religious, and legal frameworks intersect.
Our founder SKB Law was founded by Sarah Khan-Bashir MBE — a family law solicitor, author, educator, and one of the most recognised voices in family law in England & Wales. Sarah brings over 25 years of legal practice to every matter the firm handles, and her expertise shapes the standards, approach, and values of the firm as a whole.

Our Values What We Stand For
Values
Clarity over complexity
The law is complicated. Our job is to make it less so — translating legal reality into plain English so every client leaves better informed than when they arrived.
Values
The right support at the right time
Not every situation requires full representation. We are honest about what yours needs — and we structure our services so you can access the right level of support without committing to more than is necessary.
Values
A practice built on trust
Trust is earned through consistency, honesty, and the willingness to tell clients what they need to hear — not just what they want to. That is how we work, and how we have built long-term relationships with clients and communities across more than two decades.
Your Path Forward
How We Work
People come to us at different stages. Some want clarity first — to understand their position before committing to any course of action. Others arrive mid-situation and need a solicitor to step in, take control, and move things forward quickly. Our services are structured to meet both.
- Strategy Session — a focused, solicitor-led consultation. Clear picture, written plan, no obligation to proceed.
- Fixed-fee services — defined scope, defined cost. Divorce, khula, consent orders, document review and more.
- Legacy Planning — preventative planning for couples and families. Pre-nups, cohabitation agreements, declarations of trust, wills.
- Full representation — sustained support for complex, contested, or high-risk matters. Correspondence, negotiation, court preparation.
You are not expected to know which service you need. That is what the first conversation is for.
Who We Work With
SKB Law supports individuals and families across a broad range of circumstances — private clients, professionals, and business owners for whom the personal and the financial are closely linked. Our work spans divorce and separation, children arrangements, contact and relocation, financial settlements at every level of complexity, and preventative planning for couples building their lives together.
A significant proportion of our clients have international connections — overseas assets, dual nationality, families spanning multiple jurisdictions, or legal questions that cross borders. We are experienced in advising in these situations and in coordinating with overseas professionals where needed.
Clients can speak with us in English, Urdu, or Punjabi.

Clear Structure, Real Progress
Consistency and quality you can rely on
Clients often tell us they want two things: straight answers and reliable progress. We deliver work through clearly defined service scopes, structured processes and workflows, and senior oversight at key stages. This approach supports clear communication and expectations, consistent delivery across matters, and appropriate escalation when complexity or risk appears.
Respecting Your Context
Culturally responsive by design
Modern family law often involves more than legal rules alone. Culture, religion, international links, and family dynamics can shape what feels workable, fair, and safe. We don’t treat these as add-ons. Where relevant, we integrate religious-only marriages and separation, mahr and religious financial considerations, overseas assets or relocation, and jurisdiction and cross-border risk. Clients can speak with us in English, Urdu, or Punjabi.
Supporting international and cross-border families
For clients with overseas assets, international relocation, dual nationality, or jurisdiction questions, early legal strategy can reduce risk and prevent conflicting proceedings.
We regularly advise clients based outside the UK and coordinate, where needed, with trusted overseas professionals so advice remains aligned and consistent.
